Why is Albuquerque Interesting?

I’m endlessly grateful for the opportunity to (infrequently) contribute to the wonder that is the Why Is This Interesting? newsletter. The explainer format gives me the chance not only to dive deep into topics I’m drawn to, but to think through why I care so much about them. So when I heard that WITI was launching a travel vertical set to run every Friday, I pitched a city I’m a bit obsessed with. Albuquerque, naturally. It’s the setting for a novel I’m working on, so I’ve spent some time really getting the lay of the land. But even still, it’s a locals-only type destination in many ways, so I decided to play with the structure a bit and have Ross Cavin, a ‘Burque native, jump into the fray as a fact checker. This one turned out great, and connected with a lot of people both inside the city in question and well beyond.
